The Little Pine Café and Lodge is nestled in the charming and historic town of Mitchell, Oregon on US Highway 26 in Wheeler County.  We are in between Prineville and John Day.  Mitchell is the Gateway to the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument which is comprised of the Sheep Rock Unit in Dayville, Oregon (about 35 miles east of Mitchell) and the Painted Hills Unit (Located 9 miles northwest of Mitchell).

Mitchell is centrally located for world-class Elk, Deer and Antelope Hunting in the Ochocos and other nearby Mountain Ranges, BLM Lands and National Forests.  There are lakes, streams and rivers, including the John Day River, which is known world-wide for Great Fishing, Camping and Rafting.  Be sure to visit the Kam Wah Chung Museum and old gold mining towns in Grant County, or Glass Buttes and the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County.
